The cost of a new kitchen is easily one of the biggest investments in your home -  visit any brick-and-mortar retailer and you'll find that out for yourself. But it doesn't have to break the bank. There are a number of ways that Definitive Kitchens can reduce the cost of your dream kitchen:

Spending more doesn't always mean better quality

"You buy cheap you buy twice" I hear you say. well...yes and no. Compare the quality of some in-store kitchen units and you will see that they are made from 15mm MFC, not 18mm. Some units are flat-packed and not rigid-built, but that doesn't mean that they are necessarily cheaper. At Definitive Kitchens, most of our units are rigid-built, using glue and dowel technology. Some units are flat-packed for access reasons. They are also made from sustainably sourced 18mm MFC. All exposed edges are lipped too, so you can be sure that they are going to stand the test of time. So don't be fooled into thinking that paying more will get you quality. For most brick-and-mortar companies, they have to charge you extra to cover their overheads.

Buy kitchen units and doors that will stand the test of time

If quality at a reasonable price was available to everybody, we wouldn't have to renew our kitchens as often. At Definitive Kitchens, our kitchen units are supplied with a 10-year guarantee for complete peace of mind. Some qualities that will help your kitchen units last:

18mm MFC (Not 15mm)

All exposed edges are lipped

2mm PVC edging on all leading edges

Rigid-built with glue and dowel technology

Back Panels are 18mm solid backs on most units

Are you getting knowledge and experience

Of course, it's not all about the cost. When visiting in-store, it would be reassuring if the planner was experienced and was knowledgeable in their subject. We can't generalise, but what we can offer at Definitive Kitchens is over 13 years in the kitchen industry.

Is it necessary to replace the units or can you just replace the doors and accessories?

Not many brick-and-mortar stores will supply only replacement doors, but we do! We have a huge selection of replacement kitchen doors and accessories such as plinths and pilasters to make your kitchen makeover a reality.

Pick a carcase colour that matches the doors

If you have a tight budget in mind, choosing kitchen units that are the same colour as the kitchen doors mean that you can forego end panels, saving extra cost. Choose Light Grey kitchen units and Vivo Matt Light Grey for instance, or Ivory Quickcab units with Vivo Matt Ivory as another example.
